Finding My Way into the Wild

I offer engaging, image-led talks for camera clubs, photographic societies and special interest groups across the UK, both in person and via Zoom. My signature talk, Finding My Way into the Wild, follows my journey from landscape photography into wildlife photography in some of the world's most remote environments, including Antarctica, East Greenland, Svalbard and Iceland, as well as closer to home in the UK.

Through a collection of images and stories, I share how my approach to photography has evolved over the years. I talk honestly about the challenges of working from moving zodiacs, boats and drones, and the lessons I have learned along the way, from photographing polar bears and Arctic foxes to penguins and seabirds.

Audiences can expect a talk that goes well beyond a simple "show and tell". I explore fieldcraft, photographic ethics, composition and storytelling, as well as the realities of photographing wildlife in dynamic and often unforgiving conditions. I also demonstrate how landscape and wildlife photography can work together, rather than as separate disciplines, to create stronger and more meaningful images.
